Mounting Knots

Our netting system is designed to be configurable, without requiring many extra parts. Of course you can install nets as you deem fit your rig, but please look a the following knots. Once you master these knots you will be able to install nets with ease. Remember you don’t need to cut extra webbing to make nice jeep covers, read Tip on how to glue them.

Drawing details
Part A – Velcro loop SKU# JNVEL
Part B – Velcro loop PVC connector, SKU# JNVE2
Part C - tension buckle, SKU# JNVE3
Part D – Quick Disconnect Clasp, SKU# JNVE1

The following is a most basic knot and most of netting connected with this knot. The sliding buckle allows you to tighten the net. KNOT(A)

This two knots as you see are mirror copy of each other. With this knots you mount side nets and make their rear lines to serve as mounts for quick disconnect buckles for the back net. Normally you would use 4 of such knots on each side. KNOT(B) left/right

And the final two knots (left and right) are used to mount quick disconnects onto front and top of a side nets, if you have optional divider installed. The 4 top nylon lines of a divider are used as mounts for 4 quick disconnects for the front of a side nets. And the top line used to mount top quick disconnect. KNOT(C) left/right

How To Glue Netting and Make Quick Disconnects

Many of you have asked us how to glue/sew or otherwise attach two pieces of netting together. The best way to "glue" nylon netting is to fuse it together with a soldering iron. As always try it on a little piece of netting first :) and don't burn yourself. Put hot iron in between two pieces of webbing for a second or two just enough to melt its surfaces and then press two hot surfaces together. Hold them together until they cool off. This way you can make many custom installations with nets and secure netting edges instead of cutting them.

For instance , many of you were usking us how to make all nets mounted on quick release buckles. Well to do so you will need quick release buckle on every Velcro hoop that attaches to the body. You will want to attach one side of a buckle to the Velcro PVC mounting point.

1. First you will need to purchase extra webbing in desired color, and extra quick release buckles.

2. Cut piece of webbing about 6" long, feed into buckle and bend 1/3 of it.

3. Fuse the piece with soldering iron.

4. Attach PVC Velcro mount

5. Bend and fuse the remaining 1/3rd of a webbing.

DO NOT CUT EXCESS NETTINGS UNTIL YOU ARE 100% SURE

Remove your Jeep's soft or hard top. First you need to put in place Velcro loops onto Jeep's Frame. Look at the general pictures to identify their approximate positions. Depending on desired configuration you may or may not need some of them. Don’t worry you will be moving them around later. In fact you are free to make your own configurations.

Start from the top middle bar work your way attaching the nets. Do not tie them right away but keep adjusting them so they can nice and tight. Please note to make this type of knots so it is all nice and tight.

DO NOT CUT EXCESS NETTINGS UNTIL YOU ARE 100% SURE

You have an option to mount nets with optional plastic quick disconnects. The quick disconnects allow you to quickly open nets when needed. Lets say you want bottom three rows to be mounted with quick disconnect clips.
Feed excess netting from the sides to make a tension loop as per pictures below. The loop will connect to the quick disconnect clip. Connect the other end of a clip to the corresponding line on the back side. Repeat for all additional lines.

Remember you can only put quick disconnects where two sides join each other without sewing the netting to clip. Once you are done you can cut excess netting with a sharp blade and melt the edges with a match.

DO NOT CUT EXCESS NETTINGS UNTIL YOU ARE 100% SURE

in fact try not to cut them for a while as Nets will stretch just a bit so it will save you some work.
To install optional top use windshield center tie to connect the netting. If you install optional divider it is connected to the same center console.
To install handles follow these simple pictures
